Charlotte Metro Credit Union and Habitat for Humanity Charlotte Partner to Enhance Community Opportunities for Home Ownership

Organizations Unite to Fuel Sustainable and Transformative Housing Developments for low-income families in the Charlotte Community

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 4, 2018 – Charlotte Metro Federal Credit Union (CMCU), a full-service, not-for-profit financial institution based in Charlotte, today announced a three-year partnership with Habitat for Humanity Charlotte where CMCU will be providing affordable mortgage funding for new, qualifying Habitat homeowners. Together, CMCU and Habitat for Humanity Charlotte are enabling more members of the greater Charlotte region to realize a safe, affordable place to call home, setting them on a path of new opportunity, increased confidence, and self-reliance.

Through the partnership, employees of CMCU will also be active participants in local Habitat Build Days, where employees of the credit union will help to build homes that are supported through its mortgage funding programs.

The CMCU and Habitat for Humanity Charlotte partnership will enable new Habitat homeowners to benefit from affordable mortgage payments, providing them with the opportunity to build equity and invest in their future. CMCU will also support Habitat with financial and mortgage education for new homeowners.
