At Skyla, we operate with 11 Directors, who are elected by our members and serve 3-year terms. Our Board is responsible for duties such as credit union policy, planning, finance, and service delivery. But – their most important task – is ensuring we always remain right here in the communities we serve, are true to our mission and values, and meet you wherever you are in your financial journey. Unlike a bank’s Board of Directors, Credit Union Directors serve on a voluntary basis.
The nominating committee has placed into nomination four eligible members for inclusion on the election ballot: one name for each position on the Board open for election. The nominees (listed alphabetically) are:
With 14 years of prior service on Skyla’s Board, including as Board Chair, I bring deep institutional knowledge and a strong commitment to the credit union’s continued growth and success. During my tenure, I partnered closely with executive leadership to help guide the successful merger that formed Skyla Federal Credit Union. I also bring a distinguished career with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, retiring at the rank of Major, where I led security planning for major national events. Through my experience in leadership, governance, and public service, I am dedicated to advancing Skyla’s mission and serving its members with integrity and accountability.
With 11 years of service as an elected Board member, I bring a strong commitment to representing Skyla’s members and supporting the credit union’s continued success. During my tenure, I have served as Board Secretary, chaired the Nominating Committee, and contributed to several committees including Governance, Education, and Scholarships. I also previously served more than eight years on the Supervisory Committee, building a solid foundation in oversight and regulatory responsibilities. Combined with my background as an IT Manager at Atrium Health and my academic credentials in Information Technology and Business Administration, I am well-prepared to continue serving with dedication and care.
